Summary of Niagara:
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Niagara Falls, Marilyn Monroe portrays Rose, a femme fatale possessing two of the most powerful weapons: an erotic body and an evil mind. Yes, that is New York Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams playing guitar beautifully at Chicago's House of Blues in Bernie Williams: The Journey Within. In fact, the tune is his own composition, a lovely instrumental dedicated to his wife and part of a full set of warm funk, loping blues, and delicate ballads the multi-talented Williams is wont to perform on stage. The Journey Within is part concert, part overview of a man who first picked up a guitar as a young boy and continued to master it while helping the Yankees compete in multiple World Series. Surrounded by a fine band of familiar backup musicians and collaborating with Ruben Blades on some gorgeous, Latin-flavored numbers, Williams (who is introduced at the House by Rudy Giuliani) delivers a winning show that is part blues tradition and part personal.
